We have been actively working on a new version of our webDate dating software, with all of the features coming from customer requests. We’re really excited to be nearly completed and in the final testing phases, and hope that you’ll love the new features! Thanks to everyone that submitted their suggestions.
Now, for the first big change in the software: search engine friendly URLs. We’ve had a lot of customers asking to add this feature to help search engines crawl their sites easier, and index all of the pages including user profiles. Search engines normally have trouble crawling dynamic pages. Normally, in webDate, a URL would look something like: index.php?page=search. Search engines see this as a dynamic page, and ignore parts of the URL. As a result, they do not do a deep crawl of the site. With the search engine friendly URLs feature, the software will rewrite the URLs to look something like: index/page/search instead. This looks like a static URL, and is crawled by search engines much easier.
Getting ranked in search results is tough, but the more content that is indexed the better your chances or ranking higher in the most popular search engines. This is a great feature to help you do that, and we hope you like it!
